The ninth month of the Islamic calendar, the holy month of
Ramadan has been started in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today (Thursday, July 19).
It is announced on the Television after sighting the moon.

People in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries will offer
Taraweeh prayers today and will keep their first fast tomorrow (Friday, July
20).
Ramadan will most probably start from tomorrow in Pakistan,
India and Bangladesh. People in these countries will offer their first Taraweeh
prayer tomorrow and will keep their first fast on Saturday (July 21).
A meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was
held in Karachi on Friday for sighting the crescent of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak 1433
A.H, said Chairman Markazi Ruet e Hilal Committee Mufti Munibur Rehman.The
meeting was held at Karachi after Asr prayers. The meetings of Zonal
Ruet-e-Hilal Committees Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) would be held in the
building of Ministry of Religious Affairs near General Post Office (GPO). And
the meeting of zonal committees would be held at various places in their
respective areas on Friday.
